Easy Hot Cross Bun Recipe.
This is my latest effort on Squidoo. With Easter approaching I thought the time was right to post a Hot Cross Bun recipe. You’ll have plenty of time to make a few practice batches before April. This is actually my second Hot Cross Bun recipe. The first was a batter type recipe for anybody who wants to avoid kneading. My new page is a more traditional type of bread dough, but only about 10 minutes of kneading is actually required (I almost said “needed), so it doesn’t take a lot of effort. Take a look at Easy Hot Cross Bun Recipe and leave me some feedback.

I haven’t really been hiding but I’ve been so busy learning the ropes over on Squidoo that my blog has been a bit neglected the past few weeks.

Until I joined Squidoo I hadn’t realised how much potential there was for earning some great “passive” income. Simply by creating Squidoo lenses that get interest from the general public you get to share in Squidoo’s revenue earning.

So far I’ve built 16 lenses, which is really easy by the way. Just choose the modules you want on the page and add content. 6 of those look like being money makers and that is with very little effort to promote them. With a little bit of time spreading the links around I could do even better. Admittedly it would take hundreds of active lenses to produce what I would call an “income”, but it is possible. Even without that level of effort there is some nice spare change to be made.

The other really nice feature about Squidoo is that part of the sites overall revenue is given to charity. So anything you do to build and promote your own lenses is helping out someone else in need. If you choose you can donate all or just part of your personal earnings as well.

For a sample of what I’ve been doing over there, here’s my latest lens on a topic I know a little bit about, What is bread improver

And these are some of my most poular lenses so far, seems to be a fair bit of interest in recipes.

Tomato and Mint Sandwiches

Tomatoes and mint are commonly grown in home gardens in Australia and the two go well together. If you don’t grow your own you can find them fresh in your local store. Dried mint would work as well, but fresh is best.

These delicious little sandwiches make a tasty treat to have with your afternoon tea. Quick and easy to prepare and light enough that they won’t ruin your dinner. This recipe should be enough to serve 4 people.

Ingredients

4 thin slices of your favourite bread

Butter or margarine for spreading

1 tomato

2 sprgs mint leaves

Sugar

Salt and Pepper

Recipe

  1. Wash the mint under cold water and pat dry between paper towels.

  2. Pluck the leaves from the sprigs and chop finely.

  3. Thinly spread each slice of bread with the butter or margarine. You could skip this step if you wish but it does help to prevent the tomatoes from making the bread soggy.

  4. Thinly slice the tomato and cover two pieces of bread with the slices.

  5. Sprinkle sugar, salt and pepper over the tomato slices.

  6. Now sprinkle the chopped mint leaves over the top.

  7. Put the remaining pieces of bread on top.

  8. Cut each sandwich into 4 triangular pieces.

  9. Arrange on a plate and garnish with some extra mint sprigs

  10. Serve immediatley or chill in the refrigerator until time for serving.

That’s it, simple and delicious. For another tasty variation, you could use cucumber instead of tomato and leave out the sugar.
