Kidney Stones Home Remedy

Home Remedies - Kidney Stones

For people who are suffering from kidney stones, experts say the easiest way for them to deal with the condition is to flush the stones from their system. Although this can be helped by using medication or through simple medical procedures, it is often best to do it the natural way.

One of the natural methods to assist in dissolving kidney stones and flushing them out from the persons body is by drinking tea. Since time immemorial, tea has been giving people a lot of health benefits. One of which is helping the body’s system to flush out waste products that could bring health complications.

Some individuals who have suffered from kidney stones would agree that teas containing Chinese herbs such as plantain leaf, meadowsweet, Joe-pye weed and sarsaparilla, can help dissolve kidney stones because these contain natural properties which reduce excess uric acid in the body.

Combined with other herbs such as corn silk, wild yam root, hydrangea root, yarrow leaf, and cramp bark, tea preparations can be effective in dissolving small kidney stones in no time. To make the tea more effective, longer preparation time is a must. This allows the ingredients to “draw” and ensures that all the natural properties will be intact.

Another kidney stones home remedy is to use a type of tea with diuretic properties. For this type of tea, you can choose either dandelion or corn silk. Many people say that these herbs are the two most popular choices of diuretic that can produce early results. When combined with other herbs such as nettle leaf, fennel seed, and oat straw, diuretic tea can be more effective in dissolving even medium-sized kidney stones.

If you are not the type to use herbal remedies as a natural means of fighting kidney stones, there are much simpler ways such as:

1. Taking in lots of fluid. People with kidney stones must drink at least 10 glasses of water per day to flush out body waste.

2. Opting for lemonade preparation. The citric acid present in lemons can delay the development of stones in the person’s body.

3. Eating foods that are rich in fiber but low in protein, calcium, and salt. By doing this, you will have reduce the risk for kidney stones because you are avoiding the major causes of kidney stones.

4. Engaging in a regular physical exercise. Experts say that one of the reasons why people become prone to kidney stones is due to inactivity. By becoming more active, you can delay and even avoid the formation kidney stones.

The most common problems of people involving their kidney is the presence of kidney stones which are clumps of waste products formed in this specific body organ. People may not know this but kidney stones can be literally compared to real stones because they are hard and can be painful especially when they are large or block the ureter. Unlike real stones, kidney stones can be dissolved once they are diagnosed early.

Medication For Hypertension

without comments

All about Hypertension Medication

Have you tried changing your lifestyle to help your hypertension only to find it isn’t helping very much? Sometimes lifestyle changes alone aren’t as effective as when combined with blood pressure medication.

There are many different kinds of blood pressure medications out there today. Usually two different medications are used rather than one alone. Here are some of the main treatments for hypertension:

• Alpha-Blockers: This medicine reduces nerve impulses to your blood vessels allowing easier flowing of the blood making your blood pressure decrease.

• Alpha-Beta-Blockers: These work just like the alpha-blockers but also slow your heart beat. This means less blood pumps through your vessels making your blood pressure decrease.

• Nervous System Inhibitors: This medication relaxes your blood vessels by controlling the nerve impulses making your vessels wider and decreasing blood pressure.

• Beta-Blockers: These reduce your nerve impulses to your heart and blood vessels, making your heart beat decrease while dropping your blood pressure.

• Diuretics: These are also known as ‘water pills,’ a very common medication. These diuretics work in your kidney, flushing out all excess sodium along with water from your body.

• Vasodilators: These open your blood vessels directly by relaxing the muscle in your vessel walls which then causes your blood pressure to decrease.

• ACE Inhibitors: ACE stands for ‘Angiotensin converting enzyme.’ These inhibitors prevent a hormone called angiotensin II from forming, which will usually cause your blood vessels to narrow. They help the vessels relax which makes your blood pressure decrease.

• Angiotensin Antagonists: These block your blood vessels from angiotensin II. When blocked these vessels can widen letting your blood pressure decrease.

• Calcium Channel Blockers: These keep any calcium from entering your heart’s muscle cells and your blood vessels causing your blood pressure to decrease.

Hypertension natural remedies include watching a few lifestyle habits. For instance a healthy diet can help control your blood pressure. Substitute salt for other seasonings and add lots of fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.

Get at least thirty minutes of physical activity or exercise a day. That doesn’t mean you have to exercise thirty minutes all at once. Ten minutes here and there is just as effective.

Try to keep your stress level at a minimum. High stress can increase your blood pressure so find something that relaxes you and helps you de-stress. Do this whenever you find yourself stressed out beyond your means.

Try to cut back on tobacco use and alcohol consumption. Quitting altogether is more beneficial but isn’t always easy. Remember there are many resources and products available to help you quit either of these habits.

Sometimes these lifestyle changes will not work alone. Your doctor might prescribe you a blood pressure medication if not two. Just talk with your doctor to find out what would be better for you and your blood pressure. Ask any and all questions and if you are taking other medications tell your doctor. Certain medications including oral contraceptives and cold medicines can increase your blood pressure.

• Rinsing with water and baking soda. Baking soda is known to have cleansing properties and also absorbs odours. To cure bad breath, the baking soda must be mixed with warm water. Gargle the mixture for one minute, and then spit it out.

• Drinking green tea beverage. Green tea has elements in it that when taken at least once a day can help in getting rid of bad breath. It does not only cure bad breath, but is also full of antioxidants which are great for your health as well.

Black Tea Benefits for Your Health

with one comment

Black Tea is also a Health Drink

Green tea is well known for it’s health giving properties but other teas are often overlooked. Drinking black tea can give you all the same benefits as green tea. Here are the black tea facts.

Green tea and black tea come from the same plant. In fact there are also two other teas that can also be made, namely oolong and white tea. What makes these teas different from one another is simply the way they are processed.

If you drink black tea regularly, you will have healthy arteries and increase your blood flow because it has antioxidants known as flavonoids that also give the tea this rich flavor. Your cholesterol levels will drop, you can protect yourself from certain cancers, develop stronger bones, have fresher breath and fewer cavities.

Just like coffee, black teas contains caffeine. However the caffeine content of tea is much lower.  The black tea caffeine content is only 30 to 40 mg of caffeine per cup while coffee contains about 135 mg.

Another benefit of black tea is the fact that it is calorie free. Of course adding sweeteners, milk or other additives to change the flavour of tea will also add calories.

Heating is important to get the most flavour of black teas.  This is because the heat helps the tea leaves impart their taste to the water. To do that, you have to allow the loose tea leaves, or bags if you prefer, to “draw”  in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes before drinking. The longer you wait the stronger the flavour of the tea.

Teas is usually made and poured from a pot but you can also use tea bags in a cup. Just add water, wait a few minutes and enjoy. Remember to remove the bag from your cup before drinking to avoid it landing in your lap (or face) as you finish the last drops from your cup.

If you don’t like the taste of black tea and want to sweeten it a bit, try putting in some sugar, honey or a slice of lemon. You may even add milk similar to those who drink coffee.

You can have a snack whenever you feel like drinking black tea. This is great to have with biscuits, cake or cookies. This will even be better if you decide to have this before you go to work, as you are relaxing in the house or when you are entertaining visitors.

Black tea does not always have to be served with hot water. Once you have made your tea, allow it to go cold and serve chilled with ice and honey. Black iced tea mixed with lemon or other fruit juices makes an even healthier and refreshing drink. It is also great to serve with egg nog by mixing some eggs, ground nutmeg, milk, vanilla extract, salt and whip cream.

Aside from these three drinks, there are other mixtures you can make with black tea. Try out a few experiments on your own or search for recipes on the internet . That way, you have something healthier to offer yourself and guests whenever you have someone over.

Black tea is very popular which is why a lot of people drink it. There are many blends of black tea on the market, including the famous “Earl Grey Black Tea” . While some prefer this over coffee, little do they know that doctors and other health professionals also consider it as health drink.

Homemade Wind Generator Plans

without comments

Save on Energy: Make a Wind Generator
I do not need to tell you that energy costs are currently
soaring since you are probably all too familiar with the
effect of rising fuel bills on your budget. It may not seem
like it now but time like these can actually be beneficial
over the long run since they force us to seriously consider
alternative when it comes to our energy need. One of these
alternatives would perhaps be to generate your own
electricity. How can you to do this? One of the best
answers to this question would be to build your own wind
generator!

Please bear with me for a second in case that last sentence
almost convinced you to just keep paying your high
electricity bills. It is not nearly as difficult to build
your own wind turbine. There are, furthermore, some very
real benefits to be gained from doing so. Let’s look at the
latter first:

* Cost: The first, and for many the most important, benefit
building your own wind turbine is obviously that it will
slash your energy expenditure. Putting up a simple system,
perhaps combining wind with solar energy, could possible
supply in all of your energy needs. That could amount to
hundreds of dollars of savings per month.

* Environmentally friendly: We are all aware of the fact
that long term dependence on fossil fuels is simply
unsustainable. Using a natural, freely available, resource
like the wind can help you to ‘do your bit’ to help the
environment.

* Profit: Believe it or not, but you can go beyond simply
generate power for your own needs to generating surplus
energy and selling it to the electricity networks. While
few of us have large enough properties to actually make a
living from doing this, most of use would find the extra
few dollars per month very welcome!

This is all well and good you may say, but I am not a
technical person and do not have the skills and know-how to
put up a highly complex and possibly very expensive system.
Good news on both counts! It is not expensive to build your
own wind turbine and you also do not need a great deal of
technical expertise. You can, in fact, use materials that
are freely available and relatively cheap.

I would like to strongly encourage you to seriously
investigate the possibility of switching at least part of
your energy consumption to homebuilt wind generator power.
If you do this you will find that you will reap the
benefits of just a little bit of study and some basic work
for years to come!
